The Optometric Technician Basic Training program is an 8-week course designed to build the essential skills and confidence needed to thrive in an optometry practice. Participants progress through focused lessons and hands-on practice covering patient interactions, exam room setup, medical history collection, and core pretesting procedures like visual acuity, autorefractor use, tonometry, and fundus photography. By the end of the program, technicians will be equipped to perform key clinical duties, communicate effectively with doctors and patients, and contribute to a smooth, professional clinic experience.
