Contact Lens Care

There are a multitude of options when it comes to contact lens care. There are a variety of types of cleaner approved for specific types of lenses and under each type, there are an umbrella of brands available. Here is a basic outline of cleaners available. Ultimately this will be recommended to the patient by the eye care professional, specific to contact lens type. So, we have disinfecting and cleaning solutions, storing solutions, rinsing solutions, filling and application solutions, this is specific to scleral lenses as they need to be preservative-free due to minimal tear exchange to avoid toxicity, and additional care solutions and drops such as extra strength cleaners to remove lenses with heavier deposits and rewetting drops for additional moisture while wearing.
