Contacting Patients

It’s worth reiterating the importance of finding out how the patient wishes to be contacted and recording it in the appropriate locations. Use their preferred method of contact whenever possible. This is respectful of their desires and also most efficient for you. One technical point: depending on the programs you use, sometimes when you change this contact method preference in your practice management software it will automatically change it in your patient contact management software! Be careful. Ask your supervisor about this, if you are not sure how this might impact your systems.
