Direct phone calls are your most effective way to contact patients for recall. This is because you have a relationship with your patients and we all like to feel valued as individuals. Yes, I know it can be difficult to get ahold of people in today's busy world. Consider leaving a very brief/non-specific message if you need to. Here's an example: "Hi Jack. This is Bess from ABCD Eyecare. Please give me a call at your earliest convenience. The number is 123-456-789 Looking forward to talking to you soon!" It's hard to convey the importance of scheduling an eye exam in a recorded message, plus there can be privacy concerns if calling a landline. By leaving a general message, such as my last example requesting a call back, you have more of a chance of speaking directly to the patient. Do not leave messages with children.
