Objectives

Within this program, we will focus on the following objectives:

1. We will help you to calculate and understand the financial importance and value of ‘chair cost’ and the impact of insurance reimbursements
2. We will identify, locate, and learn to assess insurance reports and what opportunities we could identify within the practice based on these reports
3. We will learn to calculate appropriate evaluation fees that help us to capitalize on our reimbursements

Overall, we want to teach you how to proactively optimize your practice's profit and keep you ahead of the game.

To help you gain foundational knowledge from this program, we will begin to analyze your practice from an economic standpoint. We will also begin to understand the impact objectively that a vision payer, such as VSP, has on a practice, as it is the most utilized vision plan in the industry. You will need access to the following pieces of information. We will discuss how to acquire each of these as we move through this program together. You will want to gather your:

  • Practice Production Report (January 1, 2019-December 31, 2019)
  • Practice Operating Expenses (January 1, 2019-December 31, 2019)
  • # Comprehensive Exams (January 1, 2019-December 31, 2019)
*We define comprehensive exams as 92 comprehensive exam codes, Level 4 and Level 5, New and Established, 99 Office Visit Codes, and S codes.
  • VSP Insurance Practice Report from the Eyefinity website
  • Current Exam and Evaluation Fees

If these are not documents that you have reviewed before, don’t worry, we will take a look at these together and we will guide you in the right direction to give you the confidence you need to run your practice successfully and to be able to understand the information in front of you.

Before we go any further, I want to make it clear that we are about to discuss money, however our top priority is always going to be 5 STAR Patient Care.

If we provide our patients with a phenomenal patient experience as well as give them the best visual performance and enhanced medical care, the money will follow. But as always, our number one priority and our number on focus is that 5 STAR patient first care. Now, let’s get started!
