Welcome

Thanks for joining us for our next marketing course. We're going to discuss your website and really dive deep into what you need to make a great website! It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for new furniture, or a healthcare provider, or even a local restaurant, odds are, they all have a website. Your website should have a brief description of who you are and what you do, but it also needs to have your hours, your location, and your contact information, so people know how to reach you. But how do you distinguish between a good website and a not so good website?

To the average eye, an esthetically appealing website is enough to make a customer happy. Between eye catching photos and the information they are searching for, you can capture the attention of your prospective customer for a short period of time. However, if you’re looking to capture their attention and move them from prospect to customer, you’ll need to have more.

We’ll talk in detail about what you should have on your website to make it stand out from the competition and keep your readers attention. But before you move on to the next video, I want you to think about websites you’ve personally visited in the past that have really engaged you. The average amount of time looking at a website is just over 2 minutes. So, how long have you spent looking at websites? What made those sites stand out? While we are talking about great websites, think about how you got to that site? Remember that search engine optimization we've talked about? Well, that’s where SEO comes in. SEO is getting as many visitors to your website as possible, using the appropriate keywords to be listed on top on search engine platforms. Great websites have great search engine optimization.

Let’s get started talking about websites and search engine optimization.
