With the fluid-filled vault, these lenses are able to correct higher-order aberrations, compared to lower-order aberrations correctable by glasses and other contact lens types. So, patients are reporting improved optics and with that larger diameter of the lens, there’s a more comfortable fit that patients are reporting.
Some of the disadvantages that patients are reporting are the air bubbles that can happen and the patient has to remove and reinsert the lens. Some patients report cloudy or foggy vision occasionally due to deposits accumulated on the lens and the impression ring after the removal.
