The Ordering Process

The ordering process is probably the first place for new tech and/or a new employee to integrate into the office. Whether it’s processing an order for the supplier, calculating costs, how to create a patient statement, and how to collect and post-payment. This will be important to learn as any member of your team should be able to create an order for a patient over the phone or a walk-in patient.

Elements for an order:

1. A current authorized prescription by an eye care professional
2. Ensuring that the prescription is not past its expiration date
3. Correction details such as the power of correction, base curve, diameter, etc.
4. Brand
5. Quantity
6. Modality
