The methods in which you can obtain the intraocular pressure are:
- through applanation, which is done with the goldman tonometer – it usually requires some anesthetic drops
- you may have an I-care at your office, which uses rebound technology that measures deceleration
- or a handheld tonopen
- or we may also have a non-contact tonometer, which is typically referred to as the air puff. It measures the response of your eye to a mild puff of air.
