Pretest Room

As we work our way through the patient cycle, determine with your doctor which tests they need from the pretest room depending on office visit type. For example, sudden blur, flashes of light may require an autorefraction or fundus photo. So, when comparing this to the comprehensive exam workup there may be components that you will not complete for emergency and urgent cases. For example, lensometry or visual fields. However, some priority cases may require the same information as a comprehensive exam. While we always strive for 5-10 minutes of a workup time, this may be a situation where you will need an additional 5 minutes. We will review at a later part of this program how to develop tools to create these protocols in your office.
